“Perfect is the Enemy of the Good” was started the week of the 2020 election and finished around the week of the 2021 inauguration. In retrospect I feel as though that short period of time was particularly hopeful, yet uncertain, and then…. unfortunately violent. Much like how our perceptions, or understandings of the world are constantly ripped and sown back together, I felt like our collective unconscious was going through a similar rapid and messy reorganization at the time, highlighting the patchwork nature of our reality < return to paintings
